Lowndes beats FPR pair to pole

Craig Lowndes put Holden back on top in qualifying for the second V8 Supercars race of the weekend at Symmons Plains. After setting a record pace in morning practice, the Triple Eight driver put in an unbeatable 51.0408-second lap halfway through the 20-minute qualifying session for Sunday afternoon's 200-kilometre race. Ford Performance Racing had dominated Saturday's qualifying session and race, but had to settle for second and third with Will Davison and Mark Winterbottom in this session
