Scott Dixon edged away from Will Power to win the final Motegi IndyCar race, as Power took the points lead after title rival Dario Franchitti was involved in a collision. Ganassi driver Dixon headed Power's Penske Dallara throughout the 63 laps, pulling away a little in the closing stages after they had run a second or so apart for most of the distance. But any frustration Power felt at being unable to get on terms with Dixon was alleviated by knowledge of Franchitti's messy day
