IndyCar suspends safety truck driver
IndyCar has suspended a safety truck driver for two races after a near-miss at the start of last weekend's race in Baltimore. The truck was driving towards an escape road on the exit of Turn 1, against the flow of traffic, as the race got underway, and only just got off the track before outside front row starter Graham Rahal came through. According to the Indianapolis Star , the truck's crew had been attending to a tyre barrier at Turn 5 that had been found during the parade laps to be out of alignment, but the driver tried to make it back to Turn 1 rather than parking further along the track.
